The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him

Recently I received an email from a beloved new on the path who does not yet know the Prophet Muhammad nor Islam except from the tainted pictures most of us had if we grew up in the west in a different tradition. Someone shared this with me and now I am sharing it with you.

The Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wasallam) said:

"None of you becomes a believer until I'm dearer to him than his children, his parents and all mankind"

[Bukhari and Muslim]

But...

How can one make the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wasallam) dearer than his own children if he does not know the Prophet, how he behaved and interacted with his family, friends, and adversaries?

To love the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wasallam) is to also love his noble character, way of living, and to love that which he loved.

Not only a Prophet and Messenger, he (salla Allahu alayhi wassalam) was also
a caring husband,
a loving father,
a loyal friend,
a charismatic leader,
a wise general,
a patient teacher,
and above all, a mercy to mankind.
